On Saturday, February 6, the Roger Williams University chapter of Society of Women Engineers hosted 46 local girl scouts for the "Physics is Phun" workshop - an annual hands-on science program that allows scouts from the Girl Scouts of Southeastern New England earn a new badge by completing six different experiments on electricity, force and motion, aeronautics, optics, acoustics and space.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

A number of Eastern students commit to student internships as an on-site practical work experience with a company or organization that can provide them with firsthand knowledge of a career field. The internship is usually related to the student's major or is directly related to the student's career interest. They often complement the student's coursework, can incorporate skills and classroom experience into the workplace and assist the student in developing new abilities and skills.

Lasell College has released the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the Fall semester of the 2015-16 academic year. A student must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher to receive Dean's List recognition.

To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

A number of Eastern students recently completed semester-long internships.

On Sunday, November 1, The Assumption College Honors Program inducted 79 new members from the Class of 2019 before an audience of administrators, faculty and families. The Honors Program at Assumption College is a demanding, intensive curriculum that seeks to challenge each student to achieve his or her full potential within a supportive community of peers. Regardless of major, the Honors Program empowers students to challenge themselves and explore their passion with similarly motivated students. Students inducted into the Program are encouraged to select courses and projects that reflect their individual interests and to connect their classroom studies with experiences in the community.
